Personal Bio:
Zhongyuan (Conan) Zhai is a Research Assistant focused on developing and applying signal processing / machine learning methods to decipher the high-dimensional structure and time course of neural population activities. He obtained his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 2023 and B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at The Ohio State University in 2020. At the final step of completing his minor in Philosophy by taking PHILOS 3261: Fundamental Concepts of Existentialism at Ohio State, he existentially turned to take ECE 5070: Neuroengineering and Neuroprosthetics that has a time conflict with PHILOS 3261 and embarked on the quest for neural signal processing.
